Grunts

Today was a 48 hour day. Things got pretty weird around 5 (PST) this morning. I ended up seeing a few Peace Corps kids on the plane from O'Hare to Reagan. Then it was raining in D.C. I hired a taxi once I realized there was no shuttle to the hotel. It was worth the $30. The Asian driver decided to give me a "Driving in D.C. 101" lesson. This culminated in driving on the wrong side of the road for a few miles, with turning right in the leftmost lane as one of the perks. The wrong side of the road is set up by the district though, turning a two way into a one way road. Still. It was fun. Usual beauty in the old 13. Houses nested in greenery. Etc. Dinner at a pizzeria. "Beer? Go next door." Turns out it was partitioned. It was nicer next door, but the Man U, Valencia game was on. A pretty homey place; nice people. Other volunteers seem alright. Some are weirder. Long day and even longer night tomorrow. Sleep now.
